Nosy Sakatia Island Tour

The «Island of Turtle» is the closest island to Nosy-Be

It is renowned for its wild orchids and majestic cycads. On the island, there is a diving club. The terrain on Nosy Sakatia is quite flat. The island’s highest point is 122 meters above sea level. It stretches 3.3 kilometers in a north-south direction and 3.1 kilometers in an east-west direction. The surroundings of this island are a mosaic of farmland and natural vegetation. There are approximately 300 inhabitants in Nosy Sakatia. Most of them do farming, fishing, or selling locally handcrafted products to tourists to make money for a living.

Because of its small size, it’s also a nice place to hike and reach each corner of this island. All tour long, the guide will tell you about the island’s rites and customs to uncover all its secrets. The guide will show you the Ylang Ylang forest, the Sakatia village, and the vanilla forest with fields of coffee, vanilla, and orchids, which made this island famous. If you want to swim and meet turtles below the water’s surface you must bring snorkel gear. We will spend a couple of hours snorkeling.

You might also decide to try to tame a lemur in the forest.
