Nosy Iranja
Directly by boat from Nosy-Be, from Ambatoloaka Beach
Nosy Iranja is located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of Nosy-Be and can be divided into two islands. Those two paradise Islands, Nosy Iranja Be and the smaller sandbank of Nosy Iranja Kely. They are both connected by a thin 2km stretch of sand. The Second Island Nosy Iranja Kely is only accessible at low tide.
At Nosy Iranja Be there is a small village inhabited by fishermen.
Gustave Eiffel designed the lighthouse located at Nosy Iranja. Alexandre Gustave Eiffel was a French civil engineer. A graduate of École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures.
He is best known for the world-famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Eiffel Tower was designed by his company and built for the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris. He also contributed to building the Statue of Liberty in New York. Another famous work by Gustavo Eiffel is the Garabit Viaduct made for the French railway network.
The surrounding lagoon is turquoise-blue water affected by the sunlight. We can assure you that this will be a beautiful day. This is a unique experience!
The island is home to Hawksbill turtles, which also breed here. The Hawksbill sea turtle – Eretmochelys imbricata – is a critically endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae.

You will be picked up by car. Transfer between Nosy-Be, Ambatoloaka Beach and Nosy Iranja is by boat
Please Note
- We will be boarding the boat directly from the beach. This applies both ways to the island and from the island. A towel can be useful to have on departure. We recommend bringing sandals if you do not want to walk barefoot.
- Safety at sea is important to all of us. Please follow all instructions given by the crew of the boat, use life jacket, avoid smoking as long as you are in the boat, etc
